Canon Printer Mg5500 Driver Install Update

In Windows 10, your device is always kept up to date with the latest features and fixes. Updates and drivers are installed automatically, with no need to select which updates are needed or not needed.

In rare cases, a specific driver or update might temporarily cause issues with your device, and in this case you will need a way to prevent the problematic driver or update from reinstalling automatically the next time Windows Updates are installed. Did this solve your problem? Sorry this didn't help. I had the same problem earlier today, but the problem seems to have a fairly reasonable fix. Go to the Windows 10 Settings, select Devices, then right-click the icon for your problematic printer - and select Remove Device.

Then go to canon. Canon's site can usually auto-detect your version of Windows if not, select it from the list. The driver recommended is usually a full-version package: You shouldn't see any more updates for your printer at least not for a while , since you've just downloaded the most recent directly from the manufacturer. Windows Update should no longer be stuck in that loop of trying unsuccessfully to install the problematic update.

GaryRouth's suggestion didn't work for me. Even easier - just went to Canon Site and downloaded full package it recognises what version you are on and when install program started, unticked all options except for the MP Driver.

The problem came back on my machine. I tried this solution again, and this time it seems to have worked for me as well. I left all the options selected, and it still worked. Problem has not come back in the last few days. Tell us about your experience with our site. This thread is locked. The problem isn't that we want to prevent a driver update. The problem is that Windows 10 is telling us that there is a driver update, and there are problems installing it.

I've been getting this error since I upgraded to 10 the weekend after it went live. This wasn't a problem I had with the tech preview. Luckily, I can still use my printer, but it's frustrating to not actually be able to apply the update.

Can't upgrade the firmware on my new printer either. Mutter Canon, mutter Microsoft. GaryRouth Replied on October 17, In reply to GaryRouth's post on October 17, I uninstalled the Canon software in "Programs and Features", rebooted my machine, then went to Canon's site and downloaded the full package from Canon for my printer, extracted the package, went to the extracted files and opened the DrvSetup folder, ran the DELDRV ARSalmon Replied on December 10, It worked for me too.

Prabhavathi, long story short: This site in other languages x.
